I spent money on a game that is ran by a UK citizen, but I live in the USA. Can I sue them in a USA
court to recover my funds?

Additional Details:
They have started showing personal vendettas against people I associate with and I fear my game
account and hard earned money I spent on it are in jeapordy, despite not breaking any game rules. I
would like to file suit here to recover my funds through lost confidence in the business, but have
no idea on international law. Can I file here? Do I win a default if he doesnt show up? Please help
me, total amount in question is under 1 thousand USD.

Yes you can. Under the "effects doctrine" see United States v. Aluminum Company of America, 148 F.2d 416 (2d Cir. 1945) US courts routinely exercise jurisdiction over foreign citizens and companies for acts that take place outside of the US if those acts adversely affect citizens. If they do not show up, assuming you served them properly then it is possible to obtain a default, however consider the practical aspects of enforcing the default. Likewise if you were involved an activity that is otherwise illegal where you reside you may not be able to recover in a civil suit.
